Transparency:
Known as True Cost Pricing, True Gold Republic leads the precious metals industry in pricing transparency, disclosing the spread and the markup it charges for the precious metals it offers as well as the commission account executives may earn. The mark-up is the difference between the acquisition/wholesale price True Gold Republic pays to procure precious metals and the retail price True Gold Republic charges the Client. For example, if True Gold Republic buys a coin wholesale for $91.00 and then sells that coin at a retail price of $100.00, then True Gold Republic has applied a 9.9% mark-up on that transaction (100.00 – 91.00 = 9; 9/91 = 0.0989 x 100 = 9.9%). The spread is the difference between the retail price client pays to buy precious metal and the buyback price True Gold Republic pays to reacquire the precious metal from client that day. For example, if True Gold Republic sells a product at a retail price of $100.00 and then is reacquiring that asset from clients at a buyback price of $95.00 that day, the spread is 5% (100-95 = 5; 5/100 = 0.05 x 100 = 5%). The mark-up and the spread are determined by True Gold Republic and are based on various factors, including, but not limited to investor interest and demand, available supply, and perceived value.
True Gold Republic classifies its products as either Common Bullion, Semi-numismatic, or Numismatic Collector Products. These classifications are internal to True Gold Republic and may differ from classifications used by other precious metal dealers. True Gold Republic’s Common Bullion Products are priced above the value of the precious metal they contain. The mark-up on Common Bullion Products is 5%-10%. The spread is 3%-5%. The commission account executives may earn on these products is 1%-2%. Common Bullion Products may increase or decrease in value regardless of, and at times in opposition to, changes in the spot price of the precious metal they contain.
True Gold Republic’s Semi-numismatic Products are priced above the value of the precious metal they contain. The mark-up on Semi-numismatic Products is 39%+, depending on the specific asset. The spread is 12-25%. The commission account executives may earn on these products is 1%-8%. Semi-numismatic Products may increase or decrease in value regardless of, and at times in opposition to, changes in the spot price of the precious metal they contain. Semi-numismatic Products include all products True Gold Republic offers that are not otherwise identified as Common Bullion or Numismatic Products.
Numismatic Products. True Gold Republic’s Numismatic Products are priced at a significant premium above the value of the precious metal they contain. The mark-up on Numismatic Products varies greatly depending on the product but is generally 59%+. The spread on these products is more dependent on rarity and collector demand and interest. The commission account executives may earn on these products is 1%-8%. Numismatic Products may increase or decrease in value regardless of, and at times in opposition to, changes in the spot price of the precious metal they contain. Numismatic Products include all products True Gold Republic offers that are not otherwise identified as Common Bullion or Semi-numismatic Products.
TGR representatives are not licensed financial advisers and no fiduciary relationship is formed between TGR representatives and TGR customers. TGR representatives are commissioned salespersons whose commissions are in part based on the amount and type of precious metal they sell, with semi-numismatic and numismatic items carrying higher commissions. TGR representatives are not authorized to offer or provide any investment, tax, or legal advice concerning the Products.
